Following buttons are shown always:
Project Library consists of all the micrographs that were imported in the project. The micrographs are grouped by their name into “Image Folders”. You can select individual micrographs by clicking the checkbox in front of the image name. You can also select an entire folder by selecting the corresponding top-level directory. There is a menu on the left of the panel which can be used to perform a handful of operations on the project library.
Project Tools consists of scripts which help in organizing a project. For example to change parameters, to change project settings or to repair project links one would need to go to the Project Tools panel.
Preferences panel is used to set paths and applications that will be used during the processing. It is important that after the installation one changes these paths to make sure that everything works smoothly. This panel also features options to change the fonts.
Import tab provides options to automatically import the images and movies from a disk location. Parameters can be changed to automatically import raw, drift-corrected and averaged movies into user defined import groups. More details in later sections.
This function can be used to export the data, results and images in format required by other software packages like RELION for further processing. This is to be used once processing in Focus is done.
All the images/micrographs that were opened for editing can be accessed from this panel. Opened images are organized in different tabs like in a browser. All the images that were left open when the application was quit, will automatically be opened on next startup.
Additionally, depending on the project mode other options can be shown.
